The 1976 Datsun 280z had the LR160-23 model. The 1977 Datsun 280z used the LR160-23C model. These alternators use an External Voltage Regulator. The output of alternator at 2500rpm ( 1200 rpm of engine) is 45A at 14V. The output at 5000rpm is 60A at 14V.
